Outline of Hebrews
WHAT IT MEANS TO ME

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 10:19-25

PRACTICAL CONSEQUENCES OF DOCTRINAL TEACHING
"Having, therefore, brethren . . ." (v. 19)
The word "therefore" indicates a summing up of all that has gone before about the efficacy of Christ’s one sacrifice and His eternal High Priesthood.

THIS BRINGS PRIVILEGES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Privileges: Entrance to God; Having a High Priest; Drawing near in full assurance of faith
Responsibilities: Let us hold fast; Let us consider one another; Not forsaking the assembly

"THE DAY" (v. 25). Many construe to be the second coming of Christ, but more probably the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 a.d. (See Matt. 24:1-35)

THE THREAT AT THE HEART OF THINGS (Heb. 10: 26-31)
The deliberate rebellion
Read 1 Samuel 15:28 - Rebellion; stubbornness
No more sacrifice (2 Pet. 2:20-22)
Destruction (2 Thess. 1:8)
Death under the Old Law (Deut. 17:2-7)
How much sorer punishment for those who have
Trodden underfoot the Son of God
Counted His blood as unholy
Outraged the Spirit of grace

CHRISTIANS: YESTERDAY WAS A GREAT DAY (Heb. 10:32-39)
To keep courage high, they are exhorted to remember: Afflictions; Reproaches; Compassion
The need for patience (v. 36) and its end-receiving the promise
Looking to the end of all things – "believing to the saving of the soul"
Memory is a God-given faculty to establish our hope for the future on the experiences of the past.
